Is an American astronomer and astrophysicist.

Drake was the first in the world to begin searching for signals from other civilizations — «Ozma Project», including the founding of SETI.

Drake was the first in the world (together with Carl Sagan and others) created a message for extraterrestrial civilizations – «Pioneer Plaque».

Drake was the first in the world to create and send an interstellar radio message – “Arecibo’s Message”.


Freeman John Dyson

December 15, 1923 – February 28, 2020

Is a British-American theoretical physicist and mathematician.

He’s one of the creators of quantum electrodynamics.

In astrophysics, Dyson studied pulsars and neutron stars. He is also the author of the concept of «Dyson Sphere» —a hypothetical structure, which is a thin spherical shell of a large radius (of the order of the radius of planetary orbits) with a star in the center. It is assumed that a developed civilization can use the Dyson sphere to fully dispose of the energy of the central star and/or to solve the problem of living space. Dyson suggested relying on these ideas when searching for extraterrestrial civilizations.

Is a Dutch scientist, co-founder and CEO of Mars One, the purpose of which is the colonization of the Red Planet.

In 2008, he founded «Ampyx Power» in order to develop a new way to generate wind power.

Is an American engineer and multimillionaire.

He’s the first space tourist.

Is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist.

In 1989, Adelson and his partners built the global exhibition center “The Sands Expo Convention Center” in Las Vegas. In 2007, he created the Center for Medical Research (Medicine of the Future) at Tel Aviv University.

Is a Dutch theoretical physicist. Nobel Prize winner in Physics (1999).

In 1993, he introduced the concept of a “Holographic Universe”, stating that the Universes and “black holes” can be imagined as a giant two-dimensional hologram.

On the surface of the latter “recorded” information concerning the features of the curvature of space-time inside the object. This allows us to perceive it as a three-dimensional sphere.


Carl Edward Sagan

He was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, science popularize in astronomy and other natural sciences.

Sagan was a pioneer in the field of exobiology and gave impetus to the development of the project to search for extraterrestrial intelligence SETI. He received world fame for the mini-series «Cosmos: A Personal Voyage». He is the author of the science fiction novel “Contact”.

Is an American theoretical physicist, futurist, and popularizer of science. Popularizer of modern concepts of the device of the Universe.


Stephen William Hawking

He was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist.

He was the first to present the cosmological theory, which combined the concepts of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. The author of the concept of application of thermodynamics to the description of black holes, the author of the concept of «Evaporation» of Black Holes.

He’s author of the works «A Brief History of Time», «The Universe in a Nutshell», «The Shortest History of Time».

In 2016, he co-authored the project “Breakthrough Starshot” on sending mini-devices to the stellar system.

Co-author of the concept of temperature fluctuation of «Relic Radiation», co-author of the Theory of the Early Universe with the inflationary stage.

Nick Sagan

born September 16, 1970

Is an American novelist and screenwriter.

His greeting “Hello from the Children of Planet Earth!” (“Hello from the children of planet Earth”) was recorded and placed on board the Voyager spacecraft launched by NASA in 1977 along with other greetings in various terrestrial languages, sounds and musical fragments.

He’s author of the work “Born in Paradise”.

Nick Sagan wrote and edited scripts for the TV series “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Star Trek: Voyager”, “Captain Simian & The Space Monkeys”, “Space Precinct”, “Exosquad” and “Jack’s Place”. He participated in the creation of scripts based on the novels «Starship Troopers» by Robert Heinlein, «The Deus Machine» Pierre Ouellette, as well as «A Wizard of Earthsea» Ursula Le Guin.

He was a German-American aerospace engineer and space architect.

One of the founders of modern rocket science.

He’s considered the “father” of the American space program.

He was a Soviet designer of rocket and space systems.

Leader in the theory and practice of designing and building inhabited environments in outer space.

Under his leadership was carried out the launch of the first artificial satellite of the Earth and the first cosmonaut of the planet Yuri Gagarin.


Kip Stephen Thorne

born June 1, 1940

Is an American theoretical physicist and Nobel laureat, known for his contributions in gravitational physics and astrophysics.

One of the world’s leading experts on the astrophysical implications of Einstein’s «General Theory Of Relativity».

Thorne was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics along with Rainer Weiss and Barry C. Barish «for decisive contributions to the LIGO detector and the observation of gravitational waves».

RE: In 1988 he published a sensational article “Wormholes, Time Machines, and the Weak Energy Condition” with the co-authors in the magazine Physical Review Letters, which showed that the construction of the time machine does not contradict modern theories.

He was a scientific consultant of the synthesis of the English radio message “A Message From Earth”, which was transmitted from Evpatoria to the star Gliese 581 on October 9, 2008.

RE: Under his scientific leadership, the first multipage interstellar radio message (MCI) “Cosmic Call” was arranged and transmitted to four addresses.

In August-September 2001, the first “Children’s radio message” of the MRP was transmitted from Yevpatoria to six addresses, the analog part of which was a theremin concert, and the digital one — 28 binary images and texts.


Nikolai Alexandrovich Kozyrev

He was a Soviet astronomer and astrophysicist.

Predicted the absence of the magnetic field of the moon.

RE: Some sources attribute Kozyrev the invention of the «Kozyrev mirror». In his opinion, «… mirrors with aluminum coating turned out to be able to reflect and focus “flow of time».

RE: Kozyrev’s hypothesis about the essence of time was first presented in the article «Causal or asymmetric mechanics in a linear approximation». «Causal mechanics» («Theory Of Time») — a hypothesis about the physical properties of time and the objective difference between causes and consequences, proposed by Kozyrev in 1958.

The first step on this path was I. Newton’s work “Mathematical principles of natural philosophy”, which was published in 1687. The next step in the development of ideas about time associated with A. Einstein and G. Minkowski, when in 1905, Einstein created «The Special Theory Of Relativity». «Causal mechanics», in particular, considers the provisions on the «Course of Time», «Time density», «Event signal».


Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar

He was an Indian American astrophysicist.

He was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize for Physics with William A. Fowler for “…theoretical studies of the physical processes of importance to the structure and evolution of the stars”.


Arthur Charles Clarke

He was a British science fiction writer, science writer, inventor and futurist.

He is a member of the “World Big Three” together with Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein of science fiction writers of the mid XX century.

One of the founders of «fandom» – a subculture consisting of fans who have a common interest.

Together with Stanley Kubrick he created the cult sci-fi film “Space Odyssey 2001” (1968).

Clarke contributed to the popularity of the idea that geostationary satellites would be ideal telecommunications relays. In 1945, in the article «Extra-Terrestrial Relays», published in the October issue of the magazine “Wireless World”, Clark proposed the idea of creating a system of communication satellites in geostationary orbits, which would allow to organize a global communication system. This idea was implemented and ensured the creation in the second half of the XX century of almost all global communication systems, including the Internet.

Fred Hoyle

He was a British astronomer, cosmologist, science fiction writer.

He formulated the theory of stellar nucleosynthesis.

In 1948, together with Hermann Bondi and Thomas Gould, he developed a stationary model of the Universe, which postulates the independence of the processes of matter emergence and expansion of the Universe. It is believed that it was Hoyle who first used the term “Big Bang”, which quickly became commonplace, denoting a model alternative to his own.

Is a Russian painter and an academician of the Russian Academy of arts.

Alexander Shilov is the first Earthman whose paintings have been in Space. The fact of exhibiting paintings by A. A. Shilov on the ISS is listed in the Guinness Book of records.

RE: Sometimes inexplicable things happen to Shilov’s paintings. The first space gallery could not be photographed. For some reason, images of paintings were not stored in the memory of several cameras. Several more paintings did not reach the ISS and were lost along with the cargo ship. Thus, not all paintings are returned to the Cosmos.


Stewart Brand

born December 14, 1938

American writer, editor of the « The Whole Earth Catalog (WEC)». He is the author of several books, the latest of which is «The Discipline of the Whole Earth: A Manifesto of Ecopragmatism».

He helped create the ALL Species Foundation, an organization that aimed to catalog all species on Earth by 2025.
